Editorial Policy

Last Updated: June 9, 2026

1. Mission

Bionicland publishes operator-grade briefings on AI, cybernetics, robotics, generative media, and the engineering and capital flows shaping the next decade of technology. We exist to filter primary reporting and engineering literature into a dense, scannable feed for readers who already know the field.

2. How we produce articles

Every Bionicland article is produced by a hybrid pipeline:

  1. Source selection. Editors maintain a curated list of authoritative sources (wire services, trade press, peer-reviewed journals, first-party corporate engineering/research blogs, .gov, .edu). New sources are vetted before they enter the ingestion queue.
  2. Automated synthesis. A large language model rewrites the source into Bionicland's house voice. The model is constrained to factual claims present in the source and to a fixed structural template. Full disclosure of which models are in rotation lives on the AI Disclosure page.
  3. Citation splicing. The pipeline weaves 2–4 inline links to allowlisted authoritative sources directly into the prose. The allowlist is hand-maintained and excludes tabloids, content farms, and aggregators.
  4. Human review. Every article surfaces in our editorial queue with its primary source link attached. Editors can publish, edit, attach a human-authored “Wetware Override” pinned note, or kill the draft.
  5. Publication. Once live, every article carries a visible AI-assistance disclosure strip and a link back to its primary source.

3. Sourcing standards

  • We cite primary engineering, research, and corporate sources wherever they exist (Tesla, OpenAI, DeepMind, Google Research, Meta AI, NVIDIA Developer, Microsoft, Apple, Anthropic, etc.).
  • For breaking news we rely on wire services (Reuters, AP, Bloomberg) and major trade press (The Verge, Ars Technica, Wired, IEEE Spectrum, MIT Tech Review).
  • For scientific claims we cite peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Science) or arXiv preprints with explicit caveats.
  • We do not cite tabloids, anonymous-source aggregators, or ideologically-motivated content farms.

4. Corrections & updates

Errors are corrected in place with an editor's note appended to the article. Full process, response SLA, and contact channel are on the Corrections page.

5. Advertising independence

Bionicland accepts programmatic display advertising via standard third-party networks. Advertisers have no input into editorial selection or content. Sponsored content, when published, is explicitly labeled and visually distinct from editorial articles.

6. Conflicts of interest

Editors disclose any financial or advisory relationship with a covered company in the byline area of affected articles. Bionicland does not hold equity in covered companies as a corporate policy.

7. Editorial accountability
